Getting Started:

How much does it cost to order a SurgePays™ Visa® Prepaid Card?

There is no cost to sign up or to activate your SurgePaysTM Card. For complete details, see the Fee Schedule.

How long does it take to receive my SurgePays™ Card?

Once your order is complete, you should receive your card within approximately 7-10 business days. If you have not received your card within 10 business days, call Customer Service at 1-833-459-3444.

What should I do once I receive my SurgePays™ Card?

When your card arrives, it will be accompanied by printed instructions to activate your card.

Can I get an additional SurgePays™ Card to share my account with a friend or family member?

No. Each account may only be accessed by the card issued in the name of the account holder.

Adding Money:

How do I add money to my SurgePays™ Card?

Choose from several ways to add money to you SurgePaysTM Card:

  1. Direct Deposit – provide your employer or benefits provider with your routing and account number to start your automatic deposit.
  2. Retail Locations – reload at participating locations who offer Green Dot Reload @ the RegisterTM or Visa ReadyLink. Service fees of up to $4.95 may apply. Subject to cardholder load limits.
  3. Mobile Check Deposit – Take a photo of your check with your smartphone and deposit it with the Ingo Money App†.
  4. Bank Transfers
  5. Tax Refunds – Get your refund faster than waiting for a paper check by providing your tax preparer with your bank routing and account number. Your Federal and/or State tax refunds will be deposited directly to your card account.

How do I enroll in Direct Deposit?

Your funds can be Direct Deposited from a variety of sources. Simply complete the direct deposit form that came with your card and provide it to your employer or benefits provider. You can also get your form by logging in to your account online.

  1. Paychecks. Simply provide your employer with your bank routing number and account number.
  2. Government Benefits. Your government benefits, from any government source, can be deposited directly to your card. Visit your benefits provider’s site for direct deposit enrollment instructions.
  3. Tax Refunds. Simply provide your tax preparer with your bank routing number and account number to have your Federal and/or State tax refunds deposited directly to your card account.

Where can I use my SurgePays™ Card?

You can use your card to make purchases at retail locations, over the phone and online. You can use the SurgePaysTM Card anywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted. Use ATMs nationwide to withdraw cash. Fees may apply. Withdraw cash fee-free from MoneyPass® (in-network) ATMs. See the Fee Schedule for out-of-network ATM fee information.

Can I send money to another SurgePays™ cardholder?

Yes. However, there is a fee for card-to-card transfers. See the Fee Schedule for complete details.

Why is the amount pending from my account different from my total spent?

Some merchants, such as restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and car rental agencies, will preauthorize and temporarily hold an amount that is higher than the actual purchase amount. Once the final amount is processed by the merchant, any of the remaining hold amount will be restored to your available balance. In some cases, the initial pending transaction may not include a tip amount. Once you finalize your purchase by adding a tip and signing the receipt, the transaction will be settled for your total purchase amount.
